Women in STEM Launch Event at The Railway Museum, York

Every year, Community Rail Lancashire (CRL), takes a great number of young women and girls out on the rail network to help them explore the rail industry and employment opportunities under their “Women Who Wander” project.

The Women Who Wander began in 2018 and has now expanded into women in STEM in 2020.

Over the past year, we have shot some fantastic events, held by CRL working with schools both in Liverpool and Manchester. They have arranged various trips for young women and girls to transports museums, rail venues and even meeting with women currently working in the rail network.
Women in STEM specifically looks to engage women and girls in experiencing rail use and considering the STEM roles within the industry.

On Monday 9th March, fittingly only a day after the International Women’s day, CRL held the Women in STEM launch event at the Railway Museum in York.

The winning pieces were selected from hundreds of entries, and at the event, the authors and artists were invited to read their pieces to industry professionals and the Lord Mayor of York, Councillor Janet Looker. It was an inspiring event and such a pleasure to be involved with.

Sunlight house is one the great iconic building in Manchester, set in a prominent and busy location, overlooking Deansgate it is at the heart of city’s business district.

The launch event was suitably called Sunlight House of Fun! With a 90,000 ball pit, happy hopper racing, a tiki bar and Fun Doctors, who prescribed drinks or anger management Pinatas to the guests after diagnosis, this unique event was particularly fun to capture.

Ali & Aysha's Wedding Celebrations at The Event Co, Old Hall Hotel in Chester

Following Ali and Aysha’s traditional wedding ceremony at the Mere Golf & Spa Hotel in Knutsford, we headed to the location of their celebration party, held at the exclusive Events Co Marquee at Old Hall Hotel, set in the picturesque Chester countryside.

Over the years we have worked with Ali on various projects for his events management and drinks specialist company: MrFlavour.  Ali sets a very high standard for his company’s services, and his own wedding was no exception; every detail was well thought out, creating a remarkable experience.

The marquee, was beautifully decorated with a variety of fresh flowers and table centrepieces to please the eye, and guests were greeted with a variety of MrFlavours famous cocktails and drinks; the opulence of which was greatly admired.

Whilst the guests were arriving, we took the happy couple to the grounds of this stunning venue to take few portrait images. During a portrait session, we use a variety of techniques and tips to get the most natural and candid imagery that lasts a lifetime.

Having done the portraits, the couple went inside the marquee to greet their guests, followed by the dinner and speeches and a fireworks display. After which the bar was once again open, and the band incited the happy couple and guests to party through the late hours of the night. The joyous atmosphere of the couple and their guests enjoying their wedding day allowed for beautiful candid photos to be captured, and intimate moment to be caught for the couple to reminisce on.

During a very busy period in December, in between shooting corporate Christmas parties, we were asked to capture an intimate birthday celebration party; Gabrielle’s 21st.

This intimate party was held at The Ivy Restaurant in Spinningfields. Gabrielle asked for few formal portraits with her family at the start of the party and for the remaining time to capture candid and natural images. After the event we delivered a collection of 130 images which included a fantastic mixture of natural and posed photos.

Majed & Destina’s Engagement Party at Hilton Deansgate Manchester

We photograph weddings as well as engagement parties all year round and last Saturday we were invited by our lovely clients Majed and Destina to capture their engagement party.

We arrived half an hour early to the venue, in order to take a few family photographs before the guests started to arrive.

After capturing the formal photos, we adapted our photography to capture natural moments (the candid shots). We captured the guests as they arrived, the speeches, the presentation of the ring to Destina and of course the happy moments of the party.

Majed and Destina’s closest friends provided the heart warming speeches. We captured the couple’s and the guests reaction to the speeches and the funny video prepared by Majed’s best friends.

With our extremely fast tun-around of editing, we were able to deliver the high resolution photos within 48 hours via a secure online gallery to our client. The happy couple were extremely pleased with the photographs, stating and we quote: “We cherish these photos for a very long time to come”.

University of Law provides specialist legal training, and law degrees for British barristers and solicitors. The university celebrated their annual awards evening at Manchester Art Gallery. It was an enchanting evening inside the Art Gallery thanks to the four string quartet which provided a mixture of classical and pop music for the guests.

For the second year running, we provided corporate event photography for the annual awards. We captured candid moments during the welcome reception and continued capturing the awards ceremony and the winners as it unfolded.

British Water is a trade association encompassing all sectors of the water and wastewater industry.  Building on the success of previous year’s, they’ve continued their Women in Water campaign by holding their “Women in Water” conference at the Soapworks in Manchester.

The conference focused on supporting women in the water industry in their career and personal development by presenting them with the tools, tips, advice and case studies by inspiring speakers as well as a productive networking session during the break that will enable them to continue to succees.

Klarna is one of Europe’s largest bank and payment providers for many online retailers in the UK as well as 17 other countries around the world. They offer pay after delivery options and instalment plans that lets consumers decide when and how they prefer to pay for their purchases.

The company held a marketing campaign, called House of Klarna, over 10 days in a store on King Street in Manchester. The store showcased some of the retailers that work with Klarna, such as, ASOS, Topshop, Missguided, Mothercare and Samsung. They also hosted a variety of sessions such as Yoga workshops, styling masterclasses with TopShop and ASOS, interviews with para-athletes as well as a free nail bar/hair dressers and crazy golf.

We were commissioned for the whole duration of this campaign, and provided daily content for Klarna’s social channels. Here is a very small selection of our images:

Our Retro Booth at Sarah & Nathan’s Wedding in Lancashire

As well as offering event and corporate photography in Manchester and throughout the UK, we also offer a Retro Photo Booth in Manchester & Cheshire.

Our custom made, handcrafted photo booth uses recycled walnut wood, which is both solid and striking. We created a booth which is exceptionally beautiful and unique to look at, as well as being highly functional in any sized space due to its compact nature.

Sarah & Nate got in touch with us to hire our retro booth for their wedding at the Wellbeing Farm. The couple had a retro and vintage theme to their wedding and our booth fit their venue decorations perfectly. We provided digital copies of the photos onsite to the guests via email as well as prints. We also created a guest book onsite, where the guests left messages for the bride and groom alongside their Retro Booth photo. The guest book is a lasting memory for our couple to look back in years to come alongside the funny photos of their guests!

Parent’s 60th Wedding Anniversary at the Alderly Edge Hotel.

We were invited by Francis to capture a monuments anniversary in her parents relationship; their 60 years wedding anniversary. This intimate celebration was attended by their closest and dearest family members in the Alderly Edge Hotel. During the event shot a mixture of formal and candid photographs; capturing some precious moments for the family to look back in years to come.

After delivering the images, we had fantastic feedback from the family, quoting directly:

Bespoke Constructions 20th Anniversary at Arley Hall, Manchester

Bespoke Constructions celebrated their 20th Anniversary last Saturday. The party was hosted at Arley Hall in Cheshire, and the theme of the party was “Peaky Blinders”. BBC’s Peaky Blinders was filmed at this venue back in 2015, so it was a fitting theme. To add to the atmosphere of the theme, there were Peaky Blinders lookalikes as well as jazz singers, magicians and a band.

Our client and their guests had a fantastic time and we were delighted to be able to capture lasting memories for the company for years to come.

For the 3rd year running, we were commissioned by Prolific North to capture their annual awards. The annual awards celebrates excellence and rewards outstanding campaigns and talents in the creative and media industries in the North.

Over the past 3 years, we have seen a rapid growth to this annual awards by Prolific North. This year the awards was attended by a record breaking number of 750 guests. Our client’s briefing was to capture the mood of the event as well as all the important winner shots. We delivered the awards winners photographs within 10 minutes at the end of the evening and we delivered the full album by 10AM the following morning.

UCLAN’s Music Theatre Ball at Park Hall Hotel, Lancashire

For the 3rd year running, we were invited by UCLAN to shoot their Music Theatre’s course end of the year ball. As with all of our prom and end of the year ball photography packages, we started the evening by taking formal photographs against our professionally lit backdrops for the first hour. After some time the guests were invited in for their sit down meal, during this we continued capturing natural and candid photographs of the guests enjoying their evening. We ended the event by photographing the award winner, and few shots of all the guests demonstrating their best dance moves!

We delivered the images via a password protected online gallery to the students within 24 hours, and they had full access to the whole album, allowing them to downloaded as many photos as possible.

National Society Awards at The Union, Manchester Metropolitan University

The National Societies Awards celebrates the achievements of student societies at different universities and FE establishments, around the country. The Union, Manchester Metropolitan University hosted the fourth year award last week.   Over 800 societies were nominated for the awards in 12 different categories, with Bristol University being the big winners scooping 3 awards.

We were commissioned by Manchester Metropolitan University to document the evening, capturing the students upon arrival and the awards itself. Our client also required next working day (by 9AM) turn around as the images were due to be published on different online sources the following morning.  We delivered the photos at 8:45AM ahead of our deadline and our client was extremely pleased with the images.

AESSEAL 40th Anniversary Party at Sheffield City Hall Ballroom

Tangerine HQ is based in Manchester City Centre but from time to time we do travel further up and down the UK to shoot for our clients. This time our client, AESSEAL, commissioned us to capture their 40th anniversary party at Sheffield City Hall Ballroom. AESSEAL, is a world leading producer of mechanical seals and has international offices all over the globe.

This was our first time shooting at the Sheffield City Hall Ballroom which is a Grade II listed building, and we were blown away by the art-deco ballroom and features. It was a fantastic setting for such a special occasion.
AESSEAL asked for natural and candid photos to document the evening and we did so by blending in the crowd and photographing in an un-obtrusive manner.

We delivered the photos within 24 hours to our client and they were absolutely delighted with the imagery.

The season of prom and graduation photography has started early this year for us. In the past few years we have shot proms and graduations balls for The University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Salford and UCLAN to name a few.

We shot our very first spring ball earlier this month for The University of Manchester at Principal Hotel on Oxford Road.

Our client’s briefing was to capture posed images of the students upon arrival and more natural and candid photos during the evening. We handed out cards to the students with the instructions on how they can find their photos. Within 24 hours of the event, we delivered all of the hi-resolution edited images via a secure password protected gallery, in which the students could view and download any photographs free of charge.

Benji's Bar Mitzvah at Etihad Stadium

On Sunday, shot a very special event at Manchester City’s Stadium, Etihad; Benji’s Bar Mitzvah. This is the second Bar Mitzvah in four years we have had the pleasure of shooting for this lovely family, and we are delighted to have now played a small role in both Benji and Harry’s Bar Mitzvah.  

Shortly after our arrival at the venue, we headed to the pitch side to take all the important family shots before the arrival of the guests. With the light quickly disappearing and the weather turning for worse, we used our external flashguns to light the portraits and we shot all the formal photos in quick time, and headed back to the venue to capture the rest of the evening.

And it was around this time the family and friends started to arrive at the venue. Once the drinks had been served to the guests, Benji was announced and welcomed to the room. It was then that the famous Israeli dancing begun. We absolutely love shooting Israeli dancing and capturing the madness and joy of the celebration. Below we will let the photos speak for themselves.

Shortly after the dancing, the meals were served. We continued capturing candid photographs of the guests in our usual un-intrusive manner.  Following on from the dinner, it was time for speeches in the following order: Benji’s Mom, Benji’s friends and finally the Bar Mitzvah Boy, Benji.

As quickly as it begun, our shooting time was over. Within 48 hours of the end of the event, we delivered the high resolution edited photos to our client and we had the amazing feedback from the family: “ They are absolutely beautiful. What a fantastic reminder of our special evening. Thank you SO much!!”
